New directives under fire once more as Brice Dulin gets carded for challenge

Interesting! Looks extremely clear to me! I know we all like to have a moan about World Rugby, but that directive reflects exactly the way I (and I think most other people) want to see these incidents officiated. It's also very clearly written and the video examples are perfect illustrations of that.

So yeah, it seems that it's the referees - and post-match disciplinary hearings more specifically - that are getting this wrong. Thanks for finding the link im1, very helpful indeed.

Courtney Lawes trademark hit demolishes scrumhalf Will Cliff

Now then, I don't suppose Cliffy will be trying that flashy behind-the-back move again in the immediate future! A shame really, because I thought it was a very neat play. It looked like Butterfingers playing #7 ballsed it up anyway. To some extent, Lawes saved 7's blushes.

RD, Have you been advertising on more high-brow websites or something? I'm seeing quite a few new names recently, mostly making very good points using articulate and well-constructed arguments. Frankly I find it a bit unsettling... :) #BringBackPhillNZ

Midweek Madness - Referee accidentally trips flyhalf before kick at goal

Hey RD - will we be treated to the footage of England-captain-in-waiting Maro Itoje's football-style sliding tackle?

Not sure how I feel about it myself - it was very effective and typically athletic, but can't help thinking it was also bloody dangerous. Would be quite interested to hear what other visitors to these esteemed pages made of it.

Tusi Pisi sees red for in the air challenge during breakthrough Bristol win

Ah yes, SuperGav!

Here is a more recent example - first try of this compilation. You may particularly enjoy it as it's finished off by one of the smallest blokes I've seen in professional rugby (in the modern era at least).

When I first saw the number 8 steaming through to collect this kick, my immediate reaction was "Huh? He didn't jump!"

Trysavers and what? Sounds vaguely familiar, like the name of an old friend but who you haven't seen for so long you can't quite picture the bastard any more. ;)

David Pocock dominant in second match for Panasonic Wild Knights

I reckon you're probably right. Like when I get done for offside when really it was just phenomenal line speed. :)

Lovely stuff. That tackle and turnover is a thing of beauty, although I have to say every time I've got even close to that speed of execution (tackle-release-then contest), the bastard ref has pinged me for not releasing the tackler.
