Great job USA! Some very nice rugby. I would historically support Canada, but anything that can move the USA away from American Football and towards rugby wins my support too.
I wonder when's the last time that France played any rugby that looked even remotely like this ...

I'm guessing this Aussie lingo is a proud imitation of London rhyming slang (Cockney rhyming slang) from the late 19th and early 20th century.

When I barge into a ruck, I generally look at where my studs land. I don't think any referee would allow me to walk all over someone's face and argue for my defence that my eyes were on the ball the whole time.

You can always try the following link, but I don't know if it works outside of France (wait for the advertising to end):

A bit in front, not so blantantly offside. The French commentators didn't even mention it during the game. But on the 2nd NZ try there is only one person to blame: Huget (French winger who gets sucked in and leaves 2 opponents on his empty wing). Maybe the Blacks are beatable after all :)

That's experience for you. First scrum the tight head goes down, next scrum the loose head goes down, etc (opposite of wherever the referee is).
Anyhow a good game of rugby, the referee was quite alright, apart for the odd bad call here and there (on both sides).

I do like Jerry Lee Lewis, well except fo his pedophilic tendencies that is (that made him marry his 13 year old cousin).

The home crowd is generally quiet when the home team kicks, but in many towns you'll hear some whistling when the opposing team is kicking. Depends on the opposing team, too. And on the kicker (Wilkinson gets less jeered for instance). And on the home town (in Castres the fans seem more civilised than in Toulon, Perpignan, Toulouse)

In rugby teams there are two main strains of captains: those with probity, those with pugnacity.
Chris Masoe was the captain of Castres 2 years ago and as such was well-known to the Racing's current two trainers (formerly the trainers of Castres) for his probity, so neither Toulon nor the Racing had any problem in naming him touch judge.

Haha I had a few barrels of laughter watching that!
