Yoann Huget's horrific looking face stamp against Bordeaux Begles

I may well be mistaken (and forgive me if so), but you probably haven't played in games with multiple cameras, some of which are bound to pick up the cynical act.

Dylan Hartley facing potential ban after alleged headbutt against Saracens

The suspension means he would miss England's warm-up games and the first pool game. Lancaster should just get shot of him.

Great picture in the telegraph article... makes it difficult to argue it was just a bravado-fuelled bump!

Dylan Hartley facing potential ban after alleged headbutt against Saracens

Bye-bye Hartley! Even without a ban, Lancaster's form on dealing with players' wrongdoings suggests he will just give him the boot. I remember reading all the shite in the media about him having learned his lesson, grown up, blah blah blah... and thinking it would only be a matter of time.

Jonny May starts and finishes brilliant length of the field try against Connacht

As an Irishman, I was disappointed for Connacht. But...

That try is just a joy to watch. I find it remarkably similar to the famous Baa-Baas try against NZ, just a modern day version (complete with premature celebration!).

The dummy by May to beat the last man before he passes is something else.

Toulon's Xavier Chiocci scores a great prop try against Castres in the Top 14

You'd have to give similar treatment when backs get involved in the ugly stuff and score a "forward's" try. O'Driscoll barreled over a few times from the base of a ruck.

Sergio Parisse harshly red carded as Brice Dulin gets tipped up in the air

Players would just get very adept at counting to 29 while writhing about on the ground!

Sergio Parisse harshly red carded as Brice Dulin gets tipped up in the air

It might be marginal, but the flanker grabbing Parisse's shirt alters his trajectory and ends up making things worse.

But I agree totally with im above. What the f*@$ was he thinking picking Dulin up like that?

Chris Hala'ufia huge hit then red card for shoving player's head into the dirt

Not condoning JP's behaviour on that occasion, but I don't think you can compare that to this.

Chris Hala'ufia huge hit then red card for shoving player's head into the dirt

When I read that he had received a red card for shoving a player's face in the ground, I thought it sounded harsh. But I was imagining the more common incident of face already on the ground, palm on the side of the head and lean down a bit just enough to rub it in (which I don't like to see but I don't get so offended by it as you never really know what has gone on in the game between the players in question).

But this is completely different, in the level of agression and the potential to even injure. It's pretty much a strike to the back of the head/neck and, as Dan mentions above, to a player that is not expecting it and might even be dazed or more from the original tackle.

A ban would be welcome.

Force scrumhalf Ian Prior red carded for ugly tip-tackle on Tim Nanai-Williams

No argument with the decision, but...

Does anyone else think Nanai-Williams contributes to the outcome? He seems to almost flip backwards towards the ground, and his right leg gets up pretty high without really being lifted all the way. Now, it might be that he did indeed flip himself round because he thought "If I'm going to be dumped, I'm going to at least try to get my arms down to break the fall". Just wondering if anyone else saw it like this. I think there were a few incidents of the "victim" doing more to turn a tackle into a spear than the tackler - one Bryan Habana incident springs to mind, but I'm sure there were others.

Anyway, as I say, no argument with the decision and this just seemed to be a moment of stupidity from Prior.
