Springbok 7's flyer Seabelo Senatla scores sizzling 85m try vs Kenya

That is a race I would love to see. They both seem to be able to go from 0-60 in no time but can sustain the speed over 60-70 metres and, as if that wasn't enough, both have the K.I.T.T. Turbo Boost fitted as an optional extra.

Best Tries from Round 3 of the Champions Cup PLUS Facts and Stats

I think willcoll is right. The penalty is for not immediately releasing the ball having placed it. But "double movement" is probably just easier to say and gets the message across.

I sounds like the ref saying "Try. Try." immediately, so it doesn't sound like there was any doubt in his mind. Presumably he felt the first "placing" of the ball by Farrell was part of the tackled player being brought to ground or, as 1012 says above, his momentum brought him into the in-goal area.

Sam Burgess makes his rugby union debut in Bath win over Harlequins

I may be wrong, but I don't think there is room any longer (if there ever was) in a top level international test match for a "free spirit" on the wing!

As an Irishman, I'll be happy to see more offloads like the one around the 1:50 mark in the video!

Joking aside, I wish him all the best.

Yes, in women's rugby, tight heads wear 14 and stand out on the right wing when there is a scrum.

The Five Nominations for the IRPA Try of the Year 2014

I hate to be stickler, but should the IRB Awards (flashed across the screen at the beginning and the end) not now be the World Rugby awards. I mean, if you are going to pay marketing executives buckets of cash for a flashy rebranding, may as well do it right. Otherwise those poor boys and girls in far-flung lands will just get confused.

Aside from that, the Canada try gets my vote. How she keeps that pace up all the way to the try line is something else.

I think you have discounted May's effort for the wrong reason. Surely it's the hysterical commentary that ruins it?

Referee decisions in spotlight as New Zealand prove too good for England

IN response to Facepalm's comment, I think the reason it wasn't awarded is because there was no "grounding" of the ball (i.e. holding the ball and touching the ground with it or putting downward pressure on the ball already on the ground). It would be a stretch to say Whitelock was holding the ball at any time in that sequence.

Ireland upset South Africa with impressive physicality in Dublin

On the yellow card, Poite spoke to de Villiers and implied that Strauss's hanging arm on its own would probably not have warranted a yellow card, highlighting Vermeulen's headlock, I mean tackle, on Heaslip a few minutes earlier.

Ireland upset South Africa with impressive physicality in Dublin

I think "no one gave Ireland a sniff" and "didn't have a hope" are maybe a bit strong. Agreed that the consensus among pundits and fans was a likely SA win, but probably not by more than one or two scores. But that is based on both teams playing pretty much to their potential, nobody having an off-day, no dodgy refereeing decisions etc. And how often does that happen in a modern day test match??!!
