Scott Higginbotham cited twice for knee and head-butt on Richie McCaw

Stupid thing to do, even if it's understandable. I think he also did it to annoy McCaw. Neither the knee nor head butt was strong enough to actually do damage (unlike Greyling's forarm/elbow to the face). So I think he did it to get the same reaction Cooper got when he did it last time. Even McCaw admits in his book that it riled him up and caused him to make a bad decision once or twice during the game. If Higginbotham achieved the same it's mission accomplished.

That being said it's still wrong and kinda stupid to do it in a position where it's bound to be seen by either the ref or at least by a camera. Considering Etzebeth and Greyling got 2 weeks for something comparable I'm expecting something similar.

Agree with the view a few other had on here that the kiwi press and Hansen is overreacting.. McCaw plays on the edge of the law, it's gonna piss players off and they're going to react. Not saying he deserves what he gets, but saying he should expect it from happening and that Hansen and the press should know that.

All Blacks remain unbeaten with strong win over Boks in Soweto

Please go see the discussion on the South Africa vs. Australia page regarding what a forward pass actually is and why lines on the ground don't prove that it was forward...

I can't see anything malicious in it.. I think he was just frustrated that Whitelock got down the ball and he wanted to kick it away.. He also slightly caught him in the head.. Yet Whitelock didnt seem to care, so why should we?

Brodie Retallick issued off-field yellow card for tip tackle on Andries Bekker

They aren't really comparable... Warburton lifted the French player, turned him around, and let go of him, so that he crashed neck first into the ground. Here Rattelick tackles the player, lifts him and then goes to ground with him, causing him to land on his back, yet not his neck.

The Wallabies hold on for victory over Argentina in Rosario

God how many handling errors and ruck infringements were there in that game?? I had the feeling Joubert started ignoring the ruck a bit in the second half because he was tired of blowing his whistle every 20 seconds..

Apart from that, I'll take the win considering all the injuries and the hostile environment.. A bit lucky that Argentina showed it's worst game so far in the tournament, kinda gifted the Aussies the game with all those infringements, especially in the frist half..

Maybe a penalty, defs not more.. Looked to me like Bekker tried to make it look worse than it was by rolling on to his upper back/neck after Retallik let go of him.. However he probably would've landed on his neck had he not put his forearm to the ground before impact, thus straightening his body again, so a penalty for that...

Bryan Habana hat-trick sinks the wounded Wallabies in Pretoria

If Slipper stayed on his feet I'd agree with you, I'm not sure though that he did. The angle we get from the camera doesn't really show whether he might be eaning on the bok player with his right leg. Rolland was better positioned to see that..
It looked fine from our angle though

The pass would be legal as long as it is thrown backwards, however, the player, for my understanding, would be offside and thus the opposition would be given a penalty

I think Alexander couldn't come on anymore because at that time the ref already called for uncontested scrums and thus they couldn't swap him on anymore.. Anyway massive cock up by the Aussie coaches..

Hope that means that they stop subbing Robinson after 30 minutes to bring him back on later, or make him do some cardio so he can actually last 80 minutes...

Tough decision, I think though that the ball actually left Lowe's hands horizontally and then travelled forwards because of his momentum.. Thus it wouldn't be considered a forward pass. Generally though very difficult for the refs to see and i didn't notice it while watching the game live as being particularly forward.

Just check out the video of memberbenefits if your unclear about the forward pass rule. It doesn't matter if the ball goes forwards, as long as the pass was backwards. This is because when a player runs 20 km/h and then passes, the ball is also travelling 20 km/h in the dircetion of the runner. Even if thrown backwards the ball still goes forwards because of that.
