Felipe Contepomi's rough night against Worcester

Stade Francais' Felipe Contepomi had an interesting night on Thursday, as while he played a huge part in a fantastic comeback against Worcester, he also got smashed almost every time he touched the ball. Here's a quick look at some of those tackles.

The brilliant Argentine was an integral part of a come-from-behind win that saw his side bounce back after trailing 14-0, to come out eventual 23-14 victors in the Amlin Challenge Cup.

The Pumas skipper kicked six penalties for a personal tally of 18 points to add to the try by Paul Sackey. Despite the home side outscoring the French visitors by two tries to one, the experience and patience of Stade proved too much for the hosts. Contepomi was named Man of the Match.

"In the first half we were slow off the blocks and maybe we tried to play a little to much. But at half-time we said we needed to do much of the same but with a little more pace and energy and things got better," said Contepomi.

"It was a good second half display, especially as it was our first away win of the year. Its good momentum going into next weekend's European game and good for us in the French league as well. We will take it step by step, but it's a great win and its good to win away," he added.

While he was doing everything right in terms of controlling the game, the sideshow was that on numerous occasions he was a magnet to the big tackling Worcester side, who ploughed into him at every opportunity, driving him back and dumping him on his rear end more often than not.

Keep an eye out for a neat backflip from outstanding number eight Sergio Parisse, and also the handbags that came from that last big hit on Pumas captain Contepomi.

Awesome, wasn't it? But I have to admit I was slightly disappointed as it was not quite what I had in mind when I read "a neat backflip"!!

Some tremendous tackles flying in there. Am I right in saying Contepomi kept possession and presented the ball cleanly on every single one of those, or was it just nearly every one?

The Munster fan in me would say that Paul Warwick's heart is clearly still in Thomond Park, after he provided the pass to set up all but one of the smashes on Contepomi! :P

Roger Lewis from the WRU and his need for, succesfully, gettin Shaun Edwards on board, yes.

But I think some message has been lost with Roger, a certain mesage that needs to be said in these days of economics and it's coming sliming, that we are told by some, and Shaun, yes, Shaun, who I think likjes us, us welsh, reach around sessions apart, loves us really, doosn't he, whhoo!, keep your hands to yourself, bonus tonight - anyway, I am glad we have got these contactual issues sorted, and now I am off for a babycham with the Wales backline -they are all a bunch of poffters. Didn't you you that? Terrible people, in each others arseholes.

Only joking, a great song for the welsh backline, from Shugg. ANGERFIST!

It's like reading an Irvine Welsh book, but with Welsh slang instead of Scottish................

Most of the tackles come from poor passes from Warwick. Each time Contepomi receives the ball too late so the only solution he has is to keep the ball and take a big hit.

Exactly. They're both brilliant players but it seems like they aren't in sync yet.

Nicola would actually say yes, and her present husband won't mind. As long as we keep it quiet that is, from his mates.

I'm with rugby08, I've mentioned it before to you that all you do is post bullshit links with no relevance, (or at least nothing relevant to anyone outside your head). You have to realise when you see a comment section that says "18 comments" you think oo there might be something informative, only to click on it and find out that 6 comments are all from you with nothing but spam it gets very tiresome.

RD you should take note, this fuckwit is starting to make your site look like a free for all spamathon.... in all fairness I enjoyed it more when we had about 50 anonymous comments stirring up shit rather than this one guy who dumps a truck load more crap on a comment page!

And by the way, Pretzel, have you anything interesting to say? Rugbydump will ban me when the time is right, not when your cocksucking views will decide it, wanker breath.
A song for you, with rugby, for a change,
