Super 14 Pick of the Week Round 3

Super 14 Pick of the Week Round 3

As another weekend of Super 14 rugby approaches, we take a look at a few of the best tries scored in Round 3 of this years tournament.

For the Brumbies, Stephen Hoiles finished off a fantastic bit of play from reserve hooker Huia Edmonds, who put in an audacious chip before regathering and offloading.

Gavin Passens finished off an excellent sequence of play by the Cheetahs against the Blues in Bloemfontein.

Forward Adam Thompson showed tremendous gas to chase and regather a kick ahead for the Highlanders.

Odwa Ndungane scored a memorable try for the Sharks that was made from numerous phases and some excellent play by Waylon Murray, who drew in two players.

And Anthony Tuitavake scored what was possibly the try of the weekend for the Blues, beating numerous players with some great stepping and speed.

Here's looking forward to another enjoyable weekend of rugby and more great tries, from both the Super 14 and the Six Nations.

adam thomson take a bow. not only did he show express pace but he was on the floor making a tackle seconds before he had to chase the kick ahead. awesome.

Agree with above, amazing pace for a big guy. Who is he?Completely unimpressed with Huia Edmonds. Matt Dunning can score drop goals, so what? The prize has to go to Anthony Tuitavake simply for lines of running. There was a wall of defence there, he just ran along the wall till the gap appeared. Sounds easy but that dripped class.

great compilation -gotta say i enjoy 'old' style rugby last year but the ELVs for me have made the game one step better.

Matt Dunning can score drop goals. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! truth. Anyhow, the Tuitavake and Thomson tries were hands down the best ones and of the two I'd have to go with Tuitavake's because not only did he have pace, he ran until he the defence game him space and then took it. Thomson had serious pace and stamana but it just wasn't the same.

Tuitavake try, that was class with the vision to stop the gap and put the gas down at the right moments.Adam Thomson's try was good (ableit offside!) another Southern Ginga going well.

I dont know, I did enjoy watching Waylon Murray's drawing run (but I am a Sharks supporter so I may be biased)Passen's try was also we done, some good skills from the locks, same from Thomson

I'm pretty sure Thompson's try was offside considering he was in front of the ball before it was kicked. Also did he actually ground the ball at all?????

Tuitavake's try is, I guess, in what the IRB was thinking when authorizing the ELVs
